| IED recovered by AR near Khangpat Khullen village |
A combined team of Assam Rifles and Manipur police has prevented a major disaster in the state by recovering 3 kg Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) on the track connecting Kamjong to Skipe village near Khangpat Khullen village at around 5 pm today.
According to sources from Assam Rifles, the proscribed outfit PLA had allegedly planted a huge IED on a prominent route frequented by mostly Tangkhuls and Kukis of the bordering region of Kamjong district.
The proscribed organisation was trying to carry out some activity in the run up to September 25 that may keep them relevant, said the sources.
It further said that self-styled major, Humi of PLA, resident of village Khangpat, a supposedly IED expert was reportedly behind the plan.
