MLA and former speaker, Th. Lokeshore urged Peace and Development Co-ordinating Committee (PDCC) to look over all the infrastructure of Imphal-Saikul road instead of charging wrong allegations.
Construction of the connectivity bridge of Yumnam Patlou, Khundrakpam constituency will be finalised after the decision of the department concerned, he said.
Lokeshore stated to media persons during the foundation stone laying ceremony of multipurpose community hall and Keibi High school (aided).
He said the condition of the present bridge located at Yumnam Patlou has been checked by the officials concern and experts. There is a system followed by the department while constructing a bridge and the same system is being applied in the construction of bridge of Yumnam Patlou, he added.
Lokeshore said that there are many connectivity bridge constructed on the state highway which are constructed without maintaining proper criteria for constructing a bridge. He appealed the members of PDCC to look over those bridges also and others. If the committee is to bring development in the area, then it should look over the entire area, he said.
If the bridge of Yumnam Patlou does not fit with the newly constructed parts then it will be destroyed after the decision of department and will be reconstructed after replacing the present bridge, Lokeshore asserted.
Besides, he further continued that by December 31 this year, the construction of Keibi High School, Sagolmang Higher secondary will be finished and will handed over to the public for bringing good education for the children of the area.
He said construction of school in remote areas can bring development easily as development will automatically come naturally after educating the students. Due to financial problems of the present government, the construction of these schools and multipurpose institutions will be done from local area development fund, he added.
It is mandatory to have good schools to bring development so, the construction site for building Keibi High School is donated in the name of his father, said Lokeshore.
He appealed the people to co-operate while constructing the schools and infrastructure as development in the area is for the people of the area as well as for the state.
The ceremony was also attended by president of SMC, Keibi H/S, W. Kokngangbi Singh; member of 3-Makeng Dolaithabi Zilla Parishad, N. Sanatomba Singh; Pradhan of Uyumpok gram panchayat, Th. Inaocha and others as guest of honours.
