Education minister, Thokchom Radheshyam made a surprise visit today at Y. K. College, Wangjing Thoubal and Lilong Haoreibi College.
The minister met the principal, professors and students of the colleges, where he was highlighted about the grievances faced by the students.
He inspected the compounds and the newly developing infrastructural construction works being taken up in both the colleges. He said that every infrastructural developments being taken up should not be made to compromise in terms of quality. He instructed the faculties and the people assigned for the construction work to make sure that the quality is maintained.
He stressed that the colleges and schools properties are public property belonging to the citizen specially the students who are studying in the institutions to gain knowledge. He said that a college needs to be a place where the students willing to come and attend classes regularly. To make the colleges attractive to the students, he appealed the teachers to maintain a healthy relation so that the students would feel free to approach them in the need of time.
He further said that the educational institutions is a holy place where children come together to earn knowledge making them better human being. If every individual is educated and qualified then there will not be any worries that dishearten the society, he added. He also urged the people to regard the educational institutions as worship places like temple and mosque.
